The Wear House spoke with Marjolein because she is the first beauty entrepreneur who discovered a way to create the perfect brows in a natural sustainable way for everyone.

We talked about the start of MARR cosmetics, the incredible oil, and her advice of starting your own brand.

The start of MARR Cosmetics

Marjolein managed to create a beauty empire within just a few years of hard work. She began working at a tanning salon as a part time job while still studying communications. At the time, she was already very interested in beauty, especially in eyebrows.

“Good eyebrows give you a fresh, shiny look and they can even make you look younger”.

At that time, shaping your eyebrows wasn’t so popular yet as it is now. “People still wanted thin brows”. But Marjolein aimed for the big, full brows and wanted to know how to style them herself. After lots of practicing on her mom and herself, she managed to become a pro in shaping and waxing brows and people at the tanning salon started to notice. After a while she was doing people’s brows at the desk of the tanning salon and earned some extra money!

From that moment on she got more and more customers. More people wanted big full brows. Marjolein noticed a lot of people had little holes in their brows and she wanted to find a product that could help with that. She went looking for an 100% natural product that stimulates hair growth, but all the products she found contained a lot of chemical ingredients.

That’s when she decided to make her own product!
She looked into the different ingredients and she tried a lot of different products until she knew exactly what ingredients she wanted to use. She blended the ingredients together herself and she asked her clients to try the product.

“The clients were immediately enthusiastic and asked for new products!! Finally I finetuned the serum in collaboration with a laboratory until I was 100% satisfied. And that’s how MARR Cosmetics started”

She already had a whole vision before the product was even finished the way she wanted it. Together with a friend who did a study for graphic design she designed almost everything for the ‘outside’ of the brand.
